Our Story



Welcome to the flavorful journey of Dr Frogs, where the tale began in 2007 against the backdrop of a vastly different Koh Samui. Back then, the culinary landscape was a far cry from the vibrant tapestry it now boasts.

Driven by a passion for creating a haven we would want to frequent, Dr Frogs emerged as a place where delectable cuisine, exceptional drinks, eclectic music, and a unique ambiance converged. Our vision sought to fill a void we perceived on the island.

In its early years, Dr Frogs primarily embraced the flavors of Italy, courtesy of our exceptional Italian chef, alongside Thai culinary delights. While echoes of those Italian favorites still resonate on our menu, a pivotal moment unfolded less than a year ago when old friend Chef Reuben Kimber entered the kitchen. Chef Kimber brought a range of diverse gastronomic skills, prompting us to invite him to craft a new menu. The outcome has been nothing short of spectacular. Our menu, though not extensive, is a carefully curated selection designed to cater to every taste. We continually introduce new and exciting dishes, ensuring each visit is a culinary exploration.

The food is complimented by a thoughtful wine list and crafted cocktails which is another reason that Dr Frogs is equally popular with locals as it is with travellers passing through.

We collaborate and support local farmers, fresh local markets, and fishermen to bring the freshest local seasonal produce to the table and keep our carbon footprint to a minimum. We are committed to the environment and hold a strict no-plastic policy for a sustainable and eco-friendly dining experience.
