Our Chef-Reuben Kimber

Originally from North Devon in the UK, Reuben Kimber built his culinary foundation under Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines before going on to lead kitchens at some of the UK’s most stylish venues, including Babington House in Somerset.

In 2009, a trip to Koh Samui changed everything. Captivated by the island, Reuben took on the role of head chef at Thailand’s largest beachfront villa — serving up exceptional food for weddings, events, and private gatherings.

Later, he launched one of the island’s most respected catering companies, and during Covid, shifted gears to focus on supporting locals by offering complimentary meals to those in need.

Now at Dr Frogs, Reuben brings his talent and heart to the table, creating bold, seasonal dishes using the freshest locally sourced ingredients. He’s passionate about sustainability, mentoring young chefs, and keeping things real in the kitchen.

The result? A menu full of flavor and soul — and a restaurant that’s become a favorite for locals and travelers alike.
